Cross-border Partnerships for Sustainability and Innovation: A role for South-driven Sustainability? Author/Editor(s): Diego Vazquez Brust, Joseph Sarkis and James Cordeiro
Call for Papers for the edited volume The book aims to provide conceptual and empirical tools addressing North-South and East-West multi-stakeholders collaboration to feed in on the new sustainability agenda to be formed in the upcoming Rio 2012 summit. Although a broad focus on sustainability, technology, sustainable development, and policy will be included in the book, the emphasis is on the challenges and needs of cross-border collaboration for innovation and sustainability. Now, more than ever, the transition to a global low-carbon economy requires international (particularly north-south) consensus on means and objectives. This transition is especially true after the disappointing results of the Copenhagen meetings in 2009. A compelling case can be made for interdisciplinary research that goes beyond the existing, dominant perceptions of what constitutes good practice to foster innovation. Among the topics that can be covered in the book are the following issues:
