Sustainable Innovation Award
This award is given by Walmart’s Mexican and Central American Division and will be the seventh time this award is granted.

The purpose of the award is to promote and encourage ideas and projects of young people interested in contributing to the care of the environment. The first three places are awarded a seed capital and will enter a pre-acceleration program to turn their idea into a business.

Year Project name Description
2013 Agricultura Urbana "MOL" Hydroponic pot that allows the production of vegetables and herbs such as lettuce, tomato, chili and cilantro, for consumption. This pot can be easily installed on roofs, balconies, terraces and patios.
2014 Acuaponix Marketing of a homemade ecosystem where fish and plants can be grown for human consumption.
2015 Green Gas Generation of biodigesters, a more efficient technology with which organic matter is degraded, generating methane gas that can be used to produce electricity.
2016 Aselus II hybrid luminaire with solar panels, batteries and recycled material.
2017 A Switch Off Energy-saving device, which is activated when household appliances are switched off, but connected.
