The Mission:

The Greening of Industry Network develops knowledge and transforms practice to accelerate progress toward a sustainable society.

The Greening of Industry Network is an international association of researchers, business leaders, activists, and policy makers dedicated to building a sustainable future. With coordinating offices in the Netherlands, Thailand, and the United States, we engage participants from more than 50 countries to respond to the challenge of sustainable development. Through linked conferences, publications and communications, the Network creates new relationships, visions, and practices for sustainability.

The Corporate Environmental Governance Programme is a new initiative launched by the University of Hong Kong in 2002. We carry out research and consultancy studies, training activities, and organize seminars and conferences. Sustainability and the adoption of sustainable practices should be a major concern for all companies, both large and small. Hence, we are dedicated to the promotion of effective Corporate Environmental Governance among companies in Hong Kong and the rest of China.

Hong Kong is a thriving cosmopolitan city of more than six million people and the premer tourist destination in Asia. In addition to world class shopping, dining and a spectacular skyline, the city boasts a rich and diverse natural environment, heritage, and endless cultural attractions. Add to this its position as an international business and financial centre, and Hong Kong can truly be regarded as 'Asia' s World City'.

The conference will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, a state-of-the-art conference facility, award winning architecture and central location, with full facilities for the conference, breakout sessions, small group meetings and exhibitions. The Convention Centre is in the Wan Chai area of Hong Kong Island with many hotels and other attractions within walking distance of the Centre. Details can be found on the Convention Centre's website. We strongly advise participants to book accommodation early since hotels are very full at this time of year (especially in this area).
