Travel to Chapel Hill
Chapel Hill is located on the East Coast of the United States in the state of North Carolina. It is approximately 275 miles south of Washington, D.C., and 375 miles north of Atlanta, Ga. The nearest airport is the Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU), approximately 20 miles east of downtown Chapel Hill. Most major car rental companies service this airport. Other airport alternatives are Piedmont Triad International Airport (GSO) in Greensboro, N.C., which is approximately 50 miles from Chapel Hill, and Charlotte/Douglas International Airport (CLT) in Charlotte, N.C., which is approximately 125 miles away. The nearest Amtrak train station is located in the neighboring town of Durham (1 800 872 7245), approximately 10 miles from downtown Chapel Hill. Chapel Hill is serviced by Greyhound Bus Lines (1 800 231 2222).

Transportation to Conference Sites
Chapel Hill Transit operates a public bus service throughout the town of Chapel Hill on weekdays only. The Friday Center can be reached by bus from many hotels as indicated in the Hotels section. However, some buses may require a transfer. Parking is available at both Kenan-Flagler Business School and The Friday Center.

• From Raleigh-Durham Airport, follow I-40 West; take exit 273B to Highway 54 West. From Charlotte, follow I-40 East; take exit 273 to Highway 54 West.

• Continue along Highway 54 West approximately three miles to Highway 15-501 South. (The exit is on the right just after the overpass.)

• Turn right at the light at the end of the entry onto Highway 15-501 South.

• Turn right at the second stoplight onto Manning Drive.

• Turn left at the first stoplight onto Skipper Bowles Drive.

• At the bottom of the hill (after the parking lot on the right and before the Dean Smith Center), turn right onto the driveway for Kenan-Flagler Business School and the Kenan Center.

• Park in the parking deck on the right or in the visitors' lot farther up the hill.
