How
long will my benefits last?
JOIN GIN! benefits run for 12 months from the date your payment is received.
As one of your benefits, you will receive a year's subscription, all eight
issues in the current volume-year, of the international Wiley journal
Business Strategy and the Environment (BSE). BSE is the official
journal of the Greening of Industry Network.
Why
did you start a subscription plan?
Since 1991 we had discussed whether or not to have a paid subscription,
and enough people asked for more benefits and wanted to "belong"
to the organization rather than only participating. Potential sponsors
and donors want to be assured that the direct beneficiaries of GIN are
paying some share.
When
did the JOIN GIN! program start? I thought I had already joined since
I have attended GIN conferences in the past.
The JOIN GIN! program was launched in January 2003. Before that, GIN did
not have any subscription plan or specific benefits, only GIN participants.
GIN still provides the same services for general participants, but for
subscription benefits, registration and payment are required.
How
was the GIN Subscription Program designed?
As part of our planning process for launching the GIN Second Decade,
the GIN Planning Board and additional, representative focus groups recommended
establishing a paid program. See http://www.greeningofindustry.org/future.pdf
for a summary of the Second Decade Plan, launched at the GIN2001 conference
in Bangkok. We surveyed GIN participants and the GIN Planning Board, reviewed
what many other organizations offer, and negotiated a contract with John
Wiley & Sons Publishers for a special low price on the BSE journal.
How
does GIN spend the subscription income?
We pay for your subscription for the Wiley journal, Business Strategy
and the Environment as a first step. Funds are used to support current
benefits and to develop new ones, like on-line access to conference proceedings,
and for general support of the GIN Web page, communications, publications,
events, office management, and other program expenses.
Where
does my money go?
The GIN office at the University of Twente
(NL) administers GIN subscription funds.
Why
can't I just give you my credit card number for payment?
GIN uses PayPal https://www.paypal.com as its primary credit card processor
for reasons of high security and low cost. PayPal currently serves 55
countries. We do not have access to or store any financial information
that you provide to PayPal.
Who
has access to my registration information, and where is it stored?
Access to subscriber information is limited to the GIN Coordinators and
GIN Web administrators. The database is part of the GIN Web hosting package
with CI Host www.cihost.com.
Do
you share, give, or sell my registration information or email address
with anyone?
No.
